Kilts & Bagpipes - Akiin Wedding, Tulum

Updated: Oct 14, 2019

Mallory & Jamie were the sweetest most genuine couple. They were both so full of pure serenity and love, it was magical working with them.

And we were especially thrilled that they were bringing in Jamie’s Scottish culture and would be wearing kilts and playing the bagpipes down the aisle. A definite first for us, which we love.

With 140 guests, they needed a big space and wanted the freedom to roam with accommodations, so Akiin Beach Club was the perfect choice.

The wedding party was stunning. The colors of the bridemaids dresses combined with the groomsmen in kilts was our favorite unique detail of this wedding.

When it came to decoration, Mallory had a general vision and then let Maju and Luis run with it. It was elegant and rustic, and truly highlighted the beauty that is Tulum. She really got to play with styling the chairs, the tablescape, and that incredible hanging wreath.

Mallory & Jamie flew a full band down from NYC making this one of the funkiest weddings and will definitely go down in LM Weddings history books.

Additional events: Mallory & Jamie really wanted their guests to have an amazing weekend complete with a welcome taco party and post wedding brunch at their villa, an amazing rehearsal dinner at WILD, and of course a yoga class!

Craziest Planner moment: With all the Scots the alcohol was flowing for sure. We had to scramble a few times to make sure we didn't run out, the ultimate wedding planner faux pas!

Overall, these two are truly beautiful humans and we wish them a lifetime of love & happiness.
